I like this book because it is sci-fi and those books are cool (it's not an alien sci-fi kind of book; it's about tesseracts and space travel. I have no idea what they're talking about when they say 4 dimensional; it's too hard to visualize). Although "IT" is kind of creepy because it is a brain that controls everyone's thoughts on the planet Camazotz, and "The Man with Red Eyes" is too because he is a "leader" that governs the people of the planet when he is just a puppet composed by IT, and, Mrs.Whatsit, Mrs.Who, and Mrs.Which are weird because they are not just old ladies and that Mrs.Whatsit used to be a star (not a superstar, the stars in the sky kind of star), and, Aunt Beast and the other Ixchel creatures are odd because they cannot see and cannot think about what seeing might look like (that's not that weird, some people on Earth are like that, but no-one has ever seen, so it it kind of weird), this is one of my favorite books.

I like this book because the characters are very original. Who's ever heard of a king and queen who are actually just cards (pictured below)? And what is a mock turtle (pictured below)? Lewis Carroll knows the answer to these questions, and that's what he writes in the story I'm talking about right now. The [mad] hatter (Lewis Carroll never actually referred to him as "the mad hatter"; just"the hatter") is very creative because he says, (not directly quoted) "it's always 6:00 and we have to have tea at that time", so, they never get up from the table.The duchess's chef is funny because he puts in so much pepper (the spice, not the vegetable) in his food. The duchess's baby was sneezing, as it said in the book (I was confused; does pepper make you sneeze? Probably, I concluded).

I like these books even though it is very sad because the main character's (the Baudelaire's) parents died in a fire and an evil villain named Count Olaf wants to steal their fortune. But remember, not every well-written story has a happy ending. So, without further ado, I will begin to talk about the books. The 1st is about the fire that destroyed the Baudelaire mansion and took their parents' lives. It's also about the kids meeting the Count and hating him. The 2nd book is about Klaus, Sunny and Violet Baudelaire being taken to their Uncle Montgomery to live with him. They love him, until Count Olaf murders him! The 3rd book is about the kids going to their Aunt Josephine's house over Lake Lachrymose. She is scared of a lot of stuff, including turning on her stove (for some reason; if you read the books you'll know why), so the kids have to eat cold cucumber soup instead of warmed-up tomato soup. I can't talk about all 13 books because that would take forever, so I'm stopping at 3. To know what the other books are about, just search here.
4. The Magic Pudding

This book is very silly because how can a koala talk to a human and wear clothes? And be named Bunyip Bluegum? I've never heard Bluegum as a name. And what makes even less sense is a talking bowl of pudding. He somehow doesn't mind people eating him. Also, even if you think you've eaten every last bit of him, he reappears. I believe that Bill Barnacle is weird even though he is just a human. The reason I think that is because all his friends are animals. There's barely any other homo sapiens in the story, except when Bill's telling a story about people.
